Freshman Collin Fedor represented Boston College at the USA Outdoor Junior Track & Field Championships, hosted at Indiana University this past weekend. During Friday’s preliminary round of the 1500m, Fedor ran just off his personal best with a 3:55.78 to place a very respectable 20th overall. Running in his first competition since the New England Championships a month ago, Fedor looked strong throughout, completing the final 800m in 2:03 (4:07 mile pace) to negative split. Fedor found himself in a position to strike with 300m to go, but was unable to find the necessary finishing gear as the field entered the final turn. Fedor would finish in 10th place in the first preliminary heat, but just 2 seconds from qualifying for the finals.
Overall, Fedor gained valuable experience at the national level, and if he follows in the footsteps of past Eagle freshman who have competed at the USA Juniors, we will see great things from Fedor this coming fall. Be sure to check back soon for our season highlights video…
